C-SAFE: A Fond Farewell

June was a time for bittersweet goodbyes at GHCC. We regret to announce the departure of our C-SAFE Coordinator, Mark Hughes. For fiscal year 2011, the Mayor’s Office on Criminal Justice has redefined its priorities for the C-SAFE program, focusing on the City’s most violent offenders. Since the Penn Lucy, Waverly, and Better Waverly communities do not fit these guidelines, Baltimore City has discontinued the C-SAFE program there. In that respect, Mark has helped us work ourselves out of a job! There is a lot of important work still to be done in these neighborhoods, and we look forward to continuing the partnerships we have grown with the C-SAFE program.
