Experience Corps Baltimore
Experience Corps is an award-winning national program that engages people over 55 in meeting their communities’ greatest challenges. Today, 2,000 Experience Corps members in 22 cities tutor and mentor elementary school students struggling to learn to read.

Program Impact
- Third graders working with Experience Corps members scored significantly higher on a statewide reading test than students at similar schools without Experience Corps teams.
- Based on Baltimore City Public School climate surveys, children, staff, and parents perceive that schools participating in Experience Corps have a better overall school climate than matched control schools.
- 94% of teachers report that students who work with Experience Corps members demonstrate significant academic progress.
